GTA IV

Our friend Paul and his associates at Collosal just completed this timelapse mural for Rockstar Games in Williamsburg.

Holiday Workout

Hot Asian/Popeye Girl Dujour and exercising poodles. Like Kwanzaa and Festivus all wrapped in one.

LA local

Interesting article (and a little cheap fame for the crew) in today's LA Times discussing the city prosecutors' wide ranging injunction targeting downtown area gangs and their associates. Read more here: http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-drugs29nov29,0,7816060.story?coll=la-home-center

???

Speaking of Saber, this week unfortunately marked the fall of his record for "world's largest graffiti" with this massive blockbuster (equivalent to three times the SABER piece) by LA's MTA crew.

TATTOO WARS

Cool feature on Guy Aitchison and Aaron Cain inking SABER for the most recent episode of Tattoo Wars on TLC.

Rails & Relics

Here's a small roundup of flicks from the freight train graffiti inspired Rails and Relics event that took place this past weekend in Los Angeles. Contributors from our camp included: Trigz, Chunk, and Sever, with an impromptu appearance by the reclusive duo of Phable and Crises, recognized pioneers of the early freight train graffiti movement.

Too Legit to Knit

Found: awesome evidence from one of the bleakest moments in musical history. A sewing pattern for the pants that Hammer (respect his wishes) made famous, as well as some grape-drink flavored toothpaste that he was cosigning at the time!

Peep Hammer's thugged-out Blog here: http://mchammer.blogspot.com/ And as a bonus we threw in the pants that you tried to make famous...Skidz (couldn't track down the generic version "Dangerous Curves").

Artist Spotlight

Don't sleep on California's own Brandon Bird. He is one of the foremost painters of off-kilter pop culture aesthetics working today and a personal favorite of our staff... peep more of his work on his award-winning site here: brandonbird.com

I always pick Dauber, on account of his speed attacks.

"Art Work Rebels"

Peep how we co-opted that tree.

The wall's owner shot it down, but the original working title was gonna be "My Setback's Kapitalism". An ode to the endless barrage of T-shirts, posters, coffee mugs, etc that have now become synonymous with Che Guevara. Pretty fresh considering the very system that was the focus of Guevara's most inspired protests would go on to co-opt his vision, strip it of all ideological or political connotations, and repackage it on frisbees.
